A better plan than a bailout!
If you have a half hour or so to spare check out this link. If you agree please contact your congressional delegation.

Re: A better plan than a bailout!
Interesting perspective. I didn't know that mark to market was required, I thought it was an option. He said that since Enron, World Com, etc. it became law. I guess the issue was that they had a need to regulate that these companies were being truthful about the value or their assets instead of inflating it knowing good and well it wasn't worth anything. There does need to be a way to regulate, but apparently there needs to be some flexibility.
I contact my congressman a lot, they probably know my name by now, but I can't write to my congressman about something I am not versed enough in. I am totally inept when it comes to this stuff, it's almost like a foreign language to me but I have been saying for the last few years that I was going to become more informed all the more reason now considering how much my livelihood is affected. Maybe I can make some money in the long run when this market turns around.

Now as there has been a no vote maybe congress will start looking into other ideas. That would be something new. CNN reported that there were so many NO Vote phone call to congress today that the switchboards overloaded. Maybe that's why the vote ended up the way it did. People want a another solution. I wish congress would look at this.
