Russia Invades Georgia!

The Russians have invaded the sovereign nation of Georgia which is a US ally and future member of NATO. This is the Russians making a statement, and also about oil, as one of the largest pipelines is in Georgia. How the the US respond to this? Should we get involved. Georgia has been the 3rd largest supporter of forces in Iraq thus far, and has pledged to be our friend. I believe we should at least provide them the weapons to protect themselves. We do have about 1000 troops stationed there is training positions. What happens if the Russians accidentally bomb them? I think this is a defining issue between the US, Russia, and the former soviet states, most of which are our allies now. I'm sure I'll have more to add soon.

Today the Russians are still in Georgia... 5 days after a supposed cease fir they are finding time to take hostages, steal American Hummvies, and sink the few ship Georgia had left. As the pig continues to eat this small country how can this be called a cease fire? Now the Russians said they will be leaving Friday. Does anybody believe that, or do the Russian figure they can finish putting this top 20 growth country back in the dark ages by then? Not good... as the world does nothing still. Hitler signed treaties.. treaty after treaty... stalling to gt what he wanted. Hmmm.

They have been pulling out but they are still establishing checkpoints around Georgia. I don't know what it will take.

I think Russia is flexing its mussle again. They want everyone to know they are still a force to deal with. Who ever the next President is, he is going to have to deal with them. Just talking may not be enough, hopefully what ever is done, won't be too late.
